Boy Hit By Car At Hospital

Holland police say a 4-year-old boy who was struck by a car after arriving with family to visit his grandmother at a southwest Michigan hospital has died.

Police say the boy was hit about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Holland Hospital parking lot by a woman who was searching for a parking spot.

The boy was carried inside the hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Sgt. Drew Torres tells The Holland Sentinel that the woman had turned to look left, and the boy "darted out from the right.''

The boy, his uncle and two other young children were at the hospital to visit the boy's grandmother, who was a patient at the hospital.

The Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office will review the case.
