UM Regents Okay Golf Practice Facility

The University of Michigan regents have approved designs for a $2.5 million practice facility for the men's and women's golf teams.

Thursday's decision gives the go-ahead for further work on the 10,000-square-foot facility. It was designed by Ann Arbor Architects Collaborative.

The money is coming from gifts and athletic department funds.

The site is on the west side of the driving range of the University of Michigan Golf Course.

The structure will provide year-round practice facilities, including a putting and chipping area and driving bays that use the existing driving range.

It also will provide a team gathering space, coaching offices, locker rooms, conference room and storage.
