Motorcyclist Dies In Accident

A Lapeer County man is dead after a motorcycle accident.

The Lapeer County Sheriff's Department says 49-year old Jeffrey Tadahl of Otter Lake was killed after his motorcycle was hit by car on Lapeer Road near Barnes Lake Road Friday evening.

Tadahl's 17-year old son, who was riding with his father, was injured and taken to Hurley Medical Center in Flint. He was last reported in stable/serious condition, according to a statement from the sheriff's department. They were wearing helmets.

Investigators say Tadahl was slowing down to turn into a driveway when his motorcycle was hit by a car driven by a 19-year old from North Branch, sending both into oncoming traffic where they crashed into another vehicle.

The 19-year old wasn't seriously hurt. A 50-year old driving the other car was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Four others in the car sought their own treatment.

The Lapeer County Prosecutor's Office will determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
