GasTechno Building Mobile Methane-to-Methanol Unit

The Walloon Lake alternative fuels company Gas Technologies LLC is building a mobile unit.

GasTechno founder Walte Breidenstein has developed a process that turns methane gas into burnable methanol fuel and other chemicals in a unique process that costs less than rival technologies.

And now, Breidenstein is putting that process into a towable trailer. Friday, he said it's "the first and only technology in the world that can produce fuels and chemicals from a trailer and would make an ideal business for those who are seriously interested."

He also said he's meeting with insurance industry officials to acquaint them with the processes involved, so the risks can be underwritten.
