Comcast Taps Trio Of Execs For Michigan: Comcast, one of the nation's leading providers of  entertainment, information and communications products and services, today announced its new Business Services leadership team in Michigan: Jeff Freyer as vice president of business services, and Mark Calvert and Karen Washington as directors of sales. "Jeff, Mark and Karen bring extensive experience to their new roles, especially in the area of delivering stellar service to small and medium-sized businesses," said Tom Coughlin, senior vice president of Comcast in Michigan.  "The strength of the new leadership team and the innovative products for our business customers are a winning combination for strong customer relationships here in Michigan." Freyer brings more than 13 years of experience to his new role, most recently having served as vice president of business services in Comcast's Western New England Region based in Berlin, Conn. In his new position, he will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies aimed at growing Comcast Business Services across Michigan. Prior to joining the cable industry, Freyer served as general manager and sales director of Ohio for Level 3 Communications.  He earned his bachelor's degree in statistics from the University of South Carolina and earned a master's degree in business statistics from the University of Tennessee. Mark Calvert and Karen Washington will be jointly responsible for developing a consultative business-to-business culture among the sales organization through strong leadership and skill and resource development. They will identify opportunities for improving business processes that will ultimately benefit the customer. Calvert has 30 years experience in telecommunications sales, much of it earned in leadership positions. Prior to joining Comcast's Michigan team, Calvert worked in Comcast's Indianapolis Region as a business services sales manager. He is an Indiana native who holds a bachelor's degree in economics and foundations of business from Ball State University. Washington joins Comcast with nearly 20 years of sales leadership and project management experience. Prior to joining Comcast, she served as Motorola's senior channel manager for mobile devices and companion products. She earned a bachelor's degree in engineering science from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Philadelphia, Pa.-based Comcast has 23.2 million cable customers, 16.4 million high-speed Internet customers and 8.1 million Comcast Digital Voice customers.
