DTE: Heat Causes Power Problems

The hot weather is causing some power issues across Metro Detroit.  DTE Energy says with all the air conditioners running this week, there's a bit of stress on the system -- causing some low voltage.

A spokesman advises customers to unplug motor-driven appliances such a refrigerators until they notice the electricity problem has been fixed.

The high Tuesday and Wednesday was expected to reach up to 92 degrees, with plenty of scorching sunshine.

A front approaches on Thursday, with a chance for a shower or thunderstorm, especially later in the day. Highs in the upper 80s and it looks like a nice, refreshing air mass moves in for Friday and into the weekend. Mostly sunny, breezy, less humid on Friday with a high of 80.
