Cleary U to host job fair in Howell: Cleary University's Howell campus and hiredMYway.com will sponsor a career fair featuring more than 2,500 Michigan jobs from more than 30 companies on Turesday, Oct. 5. At the last Cleary - hiredMYway.com job fair, more than 350 jobseekers participated in personal interviews and so far, 116 of them have been offered jobs. Accounting, law firms team up for business seminars: The Southfield-based accounting and business advisory firm Plante & Moran PLLC and the Grand Rapids law firm Warner Norcross & Judd LLP on Wednesday, Oct. 6 will feature eight sessions focused on innovation and practical solutions designed to help businesses grow. The seminar, "Innovation: Solutions 2 Drive Profitability," will feature presentations from nearly 30 accountants, attorneys and business consultants from both firms and P&M Corporate Finance LLC designed to help West Michigan companies take the next step in their growth plans. The seminar is targeted to C-suite executives of companies with $10 million to $200 million in revenue, including CEOs, CFOs and COOs, as well as board members and other decision makers. Sessions include using tax incentives as financing, strategy as a tool to drive growth, attracting and retaining top talent and raising capital.  The event takes place from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the Western Michigan University Conference Center at 200 Ionia Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids. Breakfast and networking will begin the day from 7:30 to 8 a.m., followed by the keynote address and eight breakout sessions. Attendees will choose two 45-minute sessions. There is no charge to attend, but advanced registration is required. Nate Young, president of NewNorth Center for Design in Business in Holland, will be the keynote speaker.  His opening talk, "Creating a Culture of Innovation," is focused on helping business leaders succeed by leveraging design, creative process and innovation methodologies to enhance their product and service portfolios. Kuka To Demonstrate At Machine Tool Show: Clinton Township-based Kuka Robotics Corp. will demonstrate five robotic systems at the IMTS trade show for the machine tool industry. Inlcuded will be robotic lathe work stations, a robotic welding demonstration, a laser welding demonstration, a vision-guided gripping robot and a grinding demonstration. Kuka is a subsidiary of Augsburg, Germany-based Kuka Roboter GmbH. The IMTS show will be Sept. 13-18 in Chicago.

 NanoBio to Present Clinical Data on Flu Vaccine, Acne Treatment: Ann Arbor-based NanoBio Corp. today announced it will present data from two separate Phase 1 clinical trials at the 2010 Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), taking place in Boston, Mass. from Sept. 12-15. NanoBio will present on its nanoemulsion-based acne treatment in a poster presentation. It will give a live presentation Sept. 12 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time on clinical data of its nanoemulsion-based nasal spray flu vaccine. And on  Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 11:15 a.m. Eastern time, it will share clinical data demonstrating the effectiveness of its topical bactericidal oil-in-water emulsion for treatment of acne. NanoBio is a privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing dermatological products, anti-infective treatments and intranasal vaccines derived from its patented NanoStat technology platform. The company's lead product candidates are treatments for herpes labialis (cold sores, licensed to GSK in the United States and Canada), onychomycosis (nail fungus), acne, cystic fibrosis and a broad platform of intranasal vaccines. The company's headquarters and laboratory are located in Ann Arbor.

Adeona To Present at Health Care Conference: Ann Arbor-based Adeona Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX: AEN) announced that it will present at the 12th Annual Rodman and Renshaw Healthcare Conference. The conference will be held Sept. 12-15 at The New York Palace Hotel in New York, N.Y. James S. Interaction Design Association forming in Lansing: The Michigan Usability Professionals Association is co-sponsoring the inaugural meeting of the Lansing chapter of the Interaction Design Association Thursday, Sept. 16 fro 6 to 8 p.m. at TechSmith headquarters in Okemos. The Lansing chapter is forming to build a community of creative thinkers and problem solvers from across Michigan to share ideas, education and inspiration around creating better experiences.
