TechTeam Adds Latin American Support for Ford: Southfield-based IT and business process outsourcing provider TechTeam Global Inc. (Nasdaq: TEAM) said Thursday that its Single Point of Contact (SPOC) IT support services contract with Ford Motor Company has been expanded to include Ford's locations in Latin America. Under the terms of the agreement, TechTeam will provide service desk, desk-side and remote desktop support, infrastructure management, identity and access management, and service management for Ford facilities in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Chile. Kors Engineering Integrates Plex At Ontario Stamper: Waterford Township-based Kors Engineering announced that it has ocmpleted the initial integration of programmable logic controllers in the industrial machinery of Tillsburg, Ontario-based Marwood Metal Fabrication Ltd. to its PleXML tool. The result, Kors said, is improved quality, lowered cost and enhanced customer satisfaction. Kors is using a single PleXML system to integrate multiple plants to the software as a service ERP system Plex Online, from Auburn Hills-based Plex Systems Inc. The architecture centralizes the IT infrastructure and eliminates the need for a server, infrastructure, and licensing at each individual plant. This system streamlines management and results in significant cost savings. Marwood is a multi-location, stamping and modular assembly supplier that produces an extensive range of components for use in the vehicle manufacturing industry. Steve Spanjers, Marwood director of engineering, said that linking the PLCs with Plex Online "allows the machines to communicate with each other and ensure a consistently high-quality part output. Our customers are delighted with the results as they can review the number of quality checks and be assured that any part that does not meet quality specifications will not be shipped.
