Parents Join DPS In Enrollment Push

Parents and Detroit Public Schools officials are planning to continue a weekend enrollment drive across the city.

Emergency financial manager Robert Bobb will join them Sunday as they go street by street trying to persuade other parents to bring their children back to the district.

Detroit's far east side will be one area visited Sunday. The Eastern Market area was the site of Saturday's enrollment push.

The district has set a target of 77,314 students this fall. Bobb hopes to increase that number by telling parents about the more rigorous curriculum and other positive changes in the district.
