Mich. Man Accused Of Machete Attack

Police say no one was injured following the arrest of a 43-year-old Bloomingdale man who accused his brother-in-law of cheating on his sister, then attacked him with a machete.

Van Buren County Sheriff officials say deputies responded to an assault complaint about 10:53 p.m. Sunday in Columbia Township, about 45 miles south-southwest of Grand Rapids.

The 36-year-old victim told police his brother-in-law was chasing him around the yard, trying to hit him with the weapon.

Police tell WOOD-TV the suspect was highly intoxicated when deputies arrested him.

No further details were released.
