Troy Moves Historic Home

A historic Troy house has a new home. Workers moved the two-story home from Livernois and Square Lake to the Troy Historical Museum at Livernois and Wattles.

WWJ's Pat Sweeting reports the move was complete just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. Troy police blocked off Livernois Road as the home was moved. The process took about two hours.

Troy resident Pam Warren watched the house make its  journey.

"I love it. When the church was moved, I also came out and watched. I'm a big history person, so I think it's very important that we preserve our history... There was quite a few people, all the way along the route," Warren said.

The house is 30 feet, six inches wide, 34 feet tall and 79 feet long. It weighs 61 tons.
