Lodge Closure, More Tie-ups This Weekend

While you're enjoying the fall colors this weekend,  you'll also see a lot of orange construction barrels on the roads. There are four high-impact projects on the schedule this weekend.

You'll have to dodge the Lodge in downtown Detroit.  Southbound M-10 will be closed from Howard Street to the Cobo Tunnel for pavement repair, starting at 7 p.m. Friday through early Monday morning.

The north and southbound I-75 ramps to SB M-10 will be closed as well, so consider using Rosa Parks, Woodward or I-375 for the route into  downtown.

For those heading to the Red Wings game on Saturday, there are two options.  Fans can use the posted detour to westbound Jefferson Avenue, to the JLA Parking structure, or they can exit southbound M-10 at Howard, use the service drive to westbound Fort Street, take a left on Sixth Street, and a right on Jefferson to access the parking structure.

All lanes of the Lodge will be wide open well ahead of Monday morning's rush.

Meantime, you'll be hitting the brakes on several local freeways that will be reduced to a single lane: Directions of I-94 at the I-696 interchange; NB I-275 between Ann Arbor Road and M-14; and both directions of US-23 between Willis Road and Washtenaw Ave.

Stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 for the latest from the roads during Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24 hours a day.
