Politics And … Popcorn?
Thousands of students have the day off today. That's because their schools are being used as polling places.
In an effort to drum up business and, perhaps, give kids something to do on their day off from school, a local movie theatre chain is showing that popcorn and politics can go hand-in-hand.
On this Election Day, MJR Digital Cinemas is giving away free popcorn to people who "elect" to visit one of their theatres today. The theatre chain says it's just their way of saying thank you to their many customers. With the purchase of a movie ticket, filmgoers will receive a FREE popcorn - any size - plus a free refill. The offer is valid today only at any of MJR's seven locations.
