Agriculture And Architecture Focus Of Delegation In China

When we think of import - export to China, most of us think of automobiles, clothing or home goods.  WWJ Newsradio 950's Marie Osborne, traveling with the Wayne County Trade Delegation in China, found there is one state representative with the group asking how  Michigan's second biggest industry: agriculture, can find a place in China.

State Representative Pam Burns says this is all preliminary, "What I'd like to see is some avenues of power going from Michigan to China." Burns hopes the meetings with agricultural officials in China will open the trade door.

WWJ spoke with one architectural firm, that realized the need to bow to the ancient Chinese belief of Feng Shui.

Carl Rowling, president of Smith Group, was surprised that his firm had to bring in Feng Shui experts to assist in the construction of a massive factory in China, "Their spiritual beliefs drive their architecture even more than we ever imagined."
