Thousands Without Power
Several thousand power outages in the Metro Detroit area.
Detroit residents telling WWJ that there's an outage near Tireman and Livernois, where a utility pole snapped in half. DTE Energy hasn't given specific numbers in that area, but several hundred people appear to be without service in that section of the city's west side.
However, DTE Energy has confirmed that there are a total of 3,300 homes and businesses without power, with the majority in the White Lake area.
As a result of the power outages, several schools are closed today.

The utility says power should be back on sometime today.
