Tigers' Miguel Cabrera Finishes Second In AL MVP Vote

Miguel Cabrera this year posted perhaps the greatest season by a Detroit Tigers hitter since Hank Greenberg.

But a streak continues. No Tigers hitter has won the American League's Most Valuable Player award since Greenberg in 1940.

Cabrera finished second in this year's MVP voting, which was announced this afternoon. The award went to Josh Hamilton, who got 22 of the 28 first-place votes. Cabrera received five first-place votes.
