Gas Prices Jump

A jump at the pump.  Drivers in and around Detroit will see gas prices up near three dollars a gallon.

Prices were raised Sunday.  The digital sign read $3.02 at the BP station at Five Mile and Inkster roads on the Livonia-Redford Township border. 

The Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday says the price of a gallon of regular jumped four cents in the last two weeks and now average $2.91. 
  
Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the average price for a gallon of mid-grade was $3.05, and premium was at $3.16.
  
Denver had the lowest average price among cities surveyed at $2.61 a gallon for regular. Long Island, NY, was highest among surveyed areas at $3.21.
  
In Michigan,  AAA Michigan says prices are about 25-cents higher than at this time last year.  Last week, the lowest gas prices in the state were in the Traverse City area, while the highest were in Marquette.
