Internationally Renowned Tech Forecaster Speaking At Cleary Graduation: In 1983, Daniel Burrus became the first and only futurist to accurately identify the 20 technologies that would become the driving force of business and economic change for decades to come. Considered one of the world's leading technology forecasters and strategists, Burrus, the founder and CEO of Burrus Research, counts Microsoft, Google, GE, IBM, Oracle, Toshiba, DuPont, Procter & Gamble, American Express, Northwestern Mutual, ExxonMobil and Sara Lee among his clients. On Saturday, Dec. 18, Burrus will be sharing his knowledge with Cleary University graduates at the school's annual Winter Commencement as the keynote speaker and recipient of an honorary Doctor of Science in Business degree. Burrus predicted PCs in every classroom by the mid-90s, fiber optics as the broadband medium fo choice and the whole Internet revolution in 1983. He predicted streaming video and widespread wireless Internet access in 1986. Burrus' interest in research became apparent in his third year of college, when he became one of the first undergraduates in the nation to direct a federal research grant. He has founded and managed six businesses, three of which were national leaders in their first year. He is also the author of six books including the international best seller "Technotrends." Burrus' new book, "Flash Foresight: How to See the Invisible and Do the Impossible," will be the lead business book published by HarperCollins in January 2011. Cleary University's Winter Commencement will take place at the Johnson Center located on the Livingston Campus, beginning at 10 a.m. Details can be found at www.cleary.edu/commencement.
