GasTechno Wants To Prove Tech At Its Own Gas Fields

Walloon Lake-baesd Gas Technologies LLC is working on creating a new Michigan based limited partnership to acquire gas reserves in Michigan.

Gas Techno, founded by gas industry veteran Walter Breidenstein, has developed a more efficient, less expensive process for turning methane into methanol, which can be burned as vehicle or heating fuel or used in various industrial processes, as well as other chemicals.

The purpose of the limited partnership is to demonstrate the efficiency of the GasTechno process to create value from gas that is currently flared off as part of natural gas extraction, or gas that is "stranded" -- without access to the gas pipelilne network.

The company would use its recently built pilot plant, which fits on a 40-foot trailer, to perform the chemical reactions, and then build a larger plant.

The partnership would operate the GasTechno plant, conduct all required testing, process harvested gas, and deliver the resulting product to market for the benefit of the partnership. Gas Technologies LLC would be the managing partner.
