Granholm, Snyder Teamwork Continues

The transition teamwork continues between outgoing Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Republican Gov.-elect Rick Snyder. The families of the two Michigan leaders are scheduled to have dinner Monday at the governor's residence in Lansing.

Snyder said Friday he appreciates Granholm's thoughtfulness in hosting the dinner. He said it will give his children a chance to talk to Granholm's children about experiences they can expect when they become part of Michigan's first family.

Last week, Granholm toured some state offices with Snyder and Lt. Gov.-elect Brian Calley. Granholm and Snyder also cooperated to reshape the new leadership of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. Both had the opportunity to pick members of the agency's new executive board.

Granholm is term-limited and couldn't seek re-election. Snyder will be sworn in Jan. 1.
