Wayne County Deputy Injured During Sting
A Wayne County Sheriff's officer was rushed to a local hospital, Tuesday, after being injured in a prostitution sting on Detroit's east side.
Officials say it happened just before 10 a.m. when Officer Darwin Sims was pursuing a sex crimes suspect on foot.
The Sheriff's Office tells WWJ that, shortly before that suspect was apprehended in the area of Lance and John R Road, the officer received a closed head injury.
The suspect is charged with indecent exposure, careless driving and obstruction.
An arraignment is expected in the next few days.
