Michigan AG Offers Advice To Dental Patients
The Michigan attorney general's office is encouraging residents affected by the unexpected shutdown of a national dental chain to file complaints with its consumer protection division for assistance.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette said in a statement Thursday that he and other attorneys general are working to form a multi-state task force to deal with the closure of the Clarence, N.Y.-based Allcare Dental and Dentures.
He says the task force likely will coordinate efforts to review the company's business practices for possible legal violations, help deal with complaints and preserve dental records.
Citing cash-flow problems, Allcare closed offices this week in several states.
Schuette's office says the company's Michigan locations included Auburn Hills, Flint, Fruitport, Lansing, Livonia and Roseville.
