Former Lawmaker Joins Clark Hill Law Firm

A new job for former Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop.

Bishop has joined the Clark Hill law firm and will work out of the company's Birmingham office.  Bishop will be a member of the firm's Government and Public Affairs Group, and will focus his practice on all areas of public policy, business law and government relations.

"With business and government experiencing an unprecedented level of change, his experience as an attorney, business owner and leader in state government will bring a new level of value and perspective to our clients across the state of Michigan, and nationally," Government and Public Affairs Group Leader John Van Fossen said in a statement.

Bishop said he decided to "return to my roots as an attorney, to help clients solve problems, particularly as Michigan is in the process of reinvention."

Bishop ran for Attorney General, but lost to Bill Schuette.  The Oakland County Republican couldn't seek re-election because of term limits.
