Shooting On Detroit's East Side; One Dead
An apparent drive-by shooting on Detroit's East side has left one person dead.
The person killed in an apparent drive-by shooting near Seven Mile and Kelly was identified this afternoon as a 50-year-old St. Clair Shores man.
Sgt. Eren Stephens, a Detroit Police spokeswoman, said the man's name will not be released until Friday as the investigation continues.
Police were called to the 2100 block of Kingsville about 11:45 a.m. on reports of gunfire.
Police say the man was shot in the head several times as he was getting out of a car parked on Kingsville, near Seven Mile and Kelly Road.
The shooting is under investigation.
