Police:Man Stole Donations For Blind Children's Camp

Waterford Township police have arrested a man accused of stealing a donation container for a blind children's camp.

46-year old David Earl White was charged with larceny in a building after allegedly taking the money and container from Anthony's Party Store on Airport Road on January 3rd.

Police were called to the store after a representative of the camp came to collect the donations, but saw the container was missing.  Investigators looked at store security video and saw White allegedly put the container in a grocery bag after buying some food.

Police received numerous tips after releasing photos of the suspect.  White was arrested without incident.

Police say White was wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants for a traffic offense and possession of narcotic equipment.  He also had been a parole absconder for nearly two years.

White faces a hearing next week in 51st District Court.
