Saginaw Future to give development awards: Saginaw Future will hold its annual awards luncheon, titled "Saginaw & the Great Lakes Bay - Energizing the New Economy," on Friday, Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dow Event Center, 303 Johnson St. in Saginaw. ESD to talk the future of nuclear energy: Nuclear Energy will take center stage at The Engineering Society of Detroit next Eggs & Energy breakfast on Thursday, Jan. 27. This popular series of breakfasts addresses important issues related to alternative energy and the growth of this new industry in the State of Michigan, including existing opportunities and legislatives issues. The event will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at ESD headquarters, 20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 415, Southfield. The event will discuss the potential and opportunities in nuclear energy, how Michigan can take advantage of renewed interest in the field, public policy and regulation and more. Presenters are to include David B. Harwood, director and program manager for nuclear development at DTE Energy and Kimberly Keithline, senior project manager for new plant deployment at the Nuclear Energy Institute.
