DETROIT (WWJ) Was it a shooting star? A meteor?  The Northern Lights?  The Twilight Zone?

At this point, no one knows what that strange bright green light was shooting across the skies and quite visible in Macomb and Oakland Counties last night.

So, we checked with Accu-weather meteorologist Carl Babinski for some kind of explanation.

“The thing we can probably rule out at this point is the Northern Lights because,  you would know about it.  You’d be able to go to a website and learn more about the spike in activity, and we have not found any evidence that the Aurora Borealis has been overly active.”

Several area police departments got calls from people that claimed they saw something very weird, around nine o’clock Wednesday night.

saw something then shortly after numerous helicopters about 4 or 5 ( at least I think they were), something was going on, very strange on how these things were flying around. They were looking for something ? kept the same circular pattern for about 30 minutes give or take ?

i seen the same thing 4 or 5 helicopter looking things flying in weird patterns and all of a sudden a green flash flew across the sky1 but it was low maybe the most at 200 feet above the ground. weird

I saw it as well. it more than likely an object, it wasn’t a laser beam or a flash, and it was coming down at nearly a 90degree angle to the earth…

what city were the helicopters flying in?

If it was coming down, what city/area would it have landed in?
from how high to how low?
    At what speed?
Why did you loose sight of it?
