Giant Snow-Slide Returns To Winter Blast

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's sNOw joke. The giant 210-foot snow slide is returning to the Motown Winter Blast. And it's returning with a new name - the Ambassador Bridge Snow Slide.

That's just part of what's being announced Thursday as producers of the 7th annual winter event unveil the complete line-up of festivities and entertainment.

The Motown Winter Blast at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit, set for February 11 through 13, will also feature Snow Shoeing - sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan - and Dog Sledding.

Event producer Jonathan Witz says families throughout metro Detroit will once again be able to enjoy a variety of wonderful winter activities. He also says that the festival's attractions will help add to the event's attendance, making a greater economic impact for local businesses.

The Motown Winter Blast - which also includes food, live music and interactive events - is introducing new hours as well. This year, the event runs Friday, Feb. 11th and Saturday, Feb. 12th, 11am-11pm; and Sunday, Feb. 13th, 11am-9pm.

Festival organizers, along with several notable speakers will preview the event Thursday afternoon Greektown Casino in Detroit.
