Spartans Beat Indiana In Overtime

EAST LANSING (WWJ/AP)  The Spartans held on to a narrow lead and finally pulled out the win in overtime against Indiana 84-83, in East Lansing Sunday night.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has never lost to Indiana coach Tom Crean, his close friend and former assistant and this win helped Izzo continue that record.

Kalin Lucas had a team high of 26 points, Draymond Green had 19, including a go-ahead shot with 29.3 seconds left, and Durrell Summers contributed 17 toward the Spartan win.

Hoosiers guard Jordan Hulls, who got tied up by Spartans center Derrick Nix with 1.2 seconds left, was long on a 3-pointer just before the buzzer.

Christian Watford scored 21 points and Hulls had 17 for the Hoosiers.

With the win Michigan State (13-8, 5-4 Big Ten) continues its home domination of Indiana and avoids its first four-game losing streak in four years.

Indiana (11-11, 2-7) had a shot to beat back-to-back ranked teams for the first time in Tom Crean's three seasons, but Jeremiah Rivers missed free throws that would've sealed the victory in regulation.
