Novi Trainer Stars In MTV Reality Show

NOVI (WWJ) - A local trainer will be featured in Wednesday night's episode of a new MTV reality show, "I Used To Be Fat."

The show features a different high school kid each week working with a personal trainer to lose weight.  In Wednesday night's episode, Sports Club of Novi trainer Jimi Varner works with a Flint girl who trained to run a 5K.

"We're looking at high school students that have a lot of weight to lost before they go off to college.  They're teamed up with a trainer, and our goal is to reshape their lives and give them a second chance," Varner told WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher.

"I will be training Kirsten Selly, a local Flint girl and our goal is to lose weight and get her  in shape to run the Crim 5k up in Flint and the girl did an amazing job and I think everyone's going to enjoy the show," he said.

Varner said he'll appear on more than one episode of the series.
