Pistons Owner Karen Davidson Cautious But Optimistic About Sale Of Team

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ-AP) - Detroit Pistons owner Karen Davidson says she's cautiously optimistic the sale of the team will be completed soon.

During the half-time between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons,  Davidson spoke with The Associated Press about the sale of the team.   She and her advisers have been negotiating with Flint native and California billionaire Tom Gores.

Davidson, the widow of longtime owner Bill Davidson, has been considering a sale of the team by itself or as part of  Palace Sports and Entertainment, which includes The Palace of Auburn Hills,  Meadow Brook Music Festival, and the DTE Energy Music Theatre.

Gores is originally from Flint and is a graduate from Michigan State.  He currently lives in California.

Forbes recently valued the NBA team at 360-million dollars.
