RightPlace to host supply chain event: The Grand Rapids economic development agency The Right Place Inc. will host the Eighth 8th Annual Midwest  Supply Chain Management Conference, "Working together to drive business growth," on Wednesday, March 16 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Valley State University Eberhard Center, 301 W. Fulton St., Grand Rapids. The early bird fee of $195 is in effect through Feb. 28; it will be $225 thereafter. There's also a group rate of $175 a person for three or more people from the same company. Student registration is $30. (Students must be enrolled full time at a university. Individuals with responsibility for product design and engineering, procurement and sourcing, manufacturing and operations, distribution and logistics, customer demand management, human resources and information technology should attend. The Midwest Supply Chain Management Conference is a comprehensive supply chain management education and networking event. This year's conference will include leaders from industry, consulting and academia who will share practical experiences in the areas of economics, growth and innovation, global perspective, and leadership and development. Keynote speakers are Thomas Klier, senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; and Michael Vitek, vice president of strategy and operational consulting, program management services, Mercedes-Benz North America.
