Ford Recalls F-150 Trucks

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Ford Motor Company plans to recall 144,000 F-150 trucks because of an airbag problem that could cause them to deploy unexpectedly.

That's a fraction of the 1.3 million vehicles the government wants recalled. Model years 2005 and 2006 are affected. Ford says an airbag wire could chafe, possibly causing a short circuit that triggers a warning light. The government counts 77 airbag-related injuries tied to the problem.
