Man Tells Police To Shoot Him

An Oakland County man who said he wanted the cops to come and shoot him is undergoing a mental health evaluation.

Sheriff deputies were called to a home on Miller Road in Addison Township late Wednesday night after the 31-year old called the Macomb County Sheriff's Department and said his kids, girlfriend and another friend were in the home and that we was going to get a weapon.  He also threatened to "punch out any cop that showed up."

The first deputies to the home saw the man with a foot long knife.  They were able to talk the man into giving up.

The man was taken to Common Ground for an evaluation.

It's unclear if criminal charges will be filed.
