New Charges Against Missing Brothers' Dad

(Adrian-WWJ) Lenawee County prosecutors are bringing additional criminal charges against the father of three brothers missing since last Thanksgiving Day.

John Skelton, 39, now faces charges of kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment, in addition to a charge of parental kidnapping that has put him behind bars in the Lenawee County Jail.

Police in Morenci are treating the case as a homicide, although murder charges have not been filed against Skelton.

Skelton has told authorities he gave nine year-old Andrew, seven year-old Alexander and five year-old Tanner to two organizations for safe-keeping. However, police say they cannot locate the organizations Skelton identified as United Foster Outreach and Underground Sanctuaries.

The brothers were last seen in the yard of Skelton's home in Morenci in late November. A hearing on the new charges is set for March 9.
