Camp For Girls Rolling Up Tents For Good

CHARLEVOIX (WWJ) - A camp for girls on Lake Charlevoix is closing after 55 years.  The owners of Camp Sea-Gull have put the 23-acre property up for sale for $6.5 million.

About 100 girls from around the Midwest would attend camp each summer on the north shore of Lake Charlevoix, 55 miles southwest of the Mackinac Bridge.

Bill Schulman, one of the camp's owners, says the camp has been owned by his family since 1955 when his parents purchased it. He'd like to see it remain as a camp but there are other possibilities.
