Rochester Coach Facing Rape And Drug Charges
ROCHESTER (WWJ) - A volunteer softball coach at Rochester Adams High School is facing rape and drug charges.
Thomas Powell was arraigned Saturday on charges of third degree criminal sexual conduct and delivery of various prescription drugs.
Investigators accuse Powell of having relationships with two 17-year old girls that started last September.
The 58-year old, who works for a national phone service provider, allegedly gave the girls cell phones so he could communicate with them and also gave one of the victims drugs.
Authorities started to investigate after a mother confronted her daughter about the relationship with the coach.
If Powell posts the 10,000 dollar bond he can't go back to the school or have any contact with the girls or their families.
He also has to move because he lives close to the school.
