Pair Guilty In Senator Levin Pie Attack

GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - A woman who hit Michigan Senator Carl Levin in the face with an apple pie has agreed to plead guilty to assaulting a member of Congress, a misdemeanor.

Ahlam Mohsen's plea agreement was filed Wednesday in federal court in Grand Rapids. Documents show her friend Max Kantar of Big Rapids will plead guilty to the same charge. Felony charges will be dropped.

Levin was hit with a pie while meeting with constituents last August in Big Rapids. Mohsen of Coldwater was identified as an anti-war protester.

Mohsen and Kantar are due in court on March 18. The maximum penalty is a year in prison.
