Major Road Construction Project In Rochester Hills

More short term pain for long term gain, this time on Crooks Road at M-59 in Rochester Hills.

WWJ's Ron Dewey reports that commuters will have their patience tested through most of the year while crews widen the busy surface street to five lanes, replacing the two-lane Crooks Road overpass with a four-lane structure, and creating a pair of brand new loop ramps to eliminate left-hand turns at M-59. New sidewalks and bike paths are also in the plans for two-wheel and pedestrian traffic.

Starting Monday, Crooks Road will be reduced to one lane in either direction between Austin Avenue and the Star Batt/Avon Industrial drives. The $10 million project is expected to be complete by November.
