Third Grader In Trouble For Using Diabetes Lancet On Classmates

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A third grade student in Pontiac could find out Wednesday how long he will be suspended, after pricking the fingers of some classmates with a diabetes testing device.

The 8-year old was caught at the end of school Monday and sent to the office. The district's security team is trying to find out where the child got the device from and is still investigating.

The Oakland Press said the blood-sugar testing device, which is called a lancet, was sent to a crime lab to determine if there is anything that could be harmful to children, such as HIV.
