Detroit Mayor To Discuss Downtown Improvements

DETROIT (AP) - Mayor Dave Bing and Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano are slated to discuss the progress made over the past year in improving Detroit's downtown.

They're also scheduled to talk about future plans for the area during the Downtown Detroit Partnership's annual meeting on Tuesday at the Detroit Marriott along the riverfront.

About 850 business and civic leaders are expected to attend.

The organization is a partnership of private and public leaders involved in public space maintenance, marketing initiatives and other efforts to strengthen Detroit's downtown.

The Downtown Detroit Partnership will update current projects and future plans at Tuesday's meeting.
