Strange to see Michigan State as a 10 seed but that is the case. The much maligned Spartans start their second season tonight in Tampa for round 2 of the NCAA Tournament against UCLA. For Mike Kebler and the seniors a chance for redemption after losing 14 games during the regular season. Spartans are set to tip around 9:20pm tonight, hear it on AM 1270, all the game on AM 1270 throughout the day. Tigers manager Jim Leyland will be cheering on the Spartans tonight in the MSU Section.
Red Wings have won 3 straight they travel to Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets. Joey MacDonald who is 1-0-1 this year against the Jackets gets the start in the net. Patrick Eaves is back; Jiri Hudler is sick and won't play.
Brad Penny is on the mound for the Tigers today, Detroit in Lakeland to face the Twins who counter with Jeff Manship.
Rip Hamilton likely out for tomorrow night's Pistons game with the Knicks. John Kuester said after practice today that Rip's grandfather passed away.
