Arrest In Death Of Beauty Store Owner

DEARBORN (WWJ) - An arrest has been made in the murder and robbery at a Dearborn beauty supply store earlier this week.

Dearborn Police say they have a man in custody, suspected in the fatal shooting of 60-year old Jay Shin, who owned Sunrise Beauty Supply on Schaefer on Tuesday.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said the community was instrumental in providing valuable leads.

Lieutenant Patricia Penman said police are now looking for two more suspects.

"We did locate a vehicle that we believe was used as a getaway car in our incident, and had previously been taken in the city of Detroit in a carjacking," she said.

About 80 hair extensions were taken in the robbery, worth about $135 apiece.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1 (800) SpeakUp, or Dearborn Police.
