Plane Makes Emergency Landing With Smoke In Cockpit

GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - An airliner bound from Grand Rapids to Detroit made an emergency landing after pilots noticed smoke in the cockpit.

The plane returned to Grand Rapids and landed safely Saturday.

There were 55 passengers on board. No injuries were reported.

Passengers were shuttled to the terminal at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport while emergency crews checked the plane.

The source of the smoke wasn't immediately apparent.

Federal Aviation Administration officials are investigating the incident
