Brilliance Audio Introduces Snap to Listen App

The Grand Haven audiobook publisher Brilliance Audio Inc. is adding two-dimensional bar codes known as "quick response" or QR codes to its packaging.

The code allows customers with smartphones to take a picture of the QR code to get a free audio excerpt of the book. Customers must download an app called Snap To Listen to get the free excerpts.

"This simple and effective capability is a significant development in improving the customer experience in audiobook buying," said Mark Pereira, general manager of Brilliance Audio. "We will continue to innovate and make the right technology investments to support our authors with audiobooks in CD and digital formats. This technology is especially advantageous for top authors with large fan bases when we connect the physical world of audiobooks to the digital world."

Brilliance Audio will be launching this service for upcoming audiobook releases, including Nora Roberts, Jean M. Auel, Iris Johansen, and Rick Riordan, with plans to add Snap To Listen features on several more titles later this year.

Brilliance Audio, part of the Amazon.com group of companies, publishes more than 600 audiobook titles annually. With a growing catalog of titles from more than 500 authors, Brilliance Audio provides customers a selection of audiobooks in the popular categories of romance, mystery, suspense and thriller, science fiction and fantasy, business and biography; and for children and young adults.

Brilliance Audio recordings are available for the retail and library markets on compact discs, MP3-formatted compact discs, and files for download.
