Bus Crash In Detroit Leaves Many Injured

DETROIT (WWJ) - A D-DOT bus slammed into a building on Fenkell, about two blocks east of Greenfield.  Witnesses say Detroit Police, Fire, and EMS units all responded to the crash.

The bus crashed into a building trapping the driver and causing many injuries to people in the bus. No word on what caused the crash. Jason Jackson works at the Mobil gas station nearby.

"I did hear it, I was wondering what it was, I didn't know whether a building exploded, or I thought, because there has been a lot of crime here, maybe a loud gun shot, but according to the pedestrians walking and the customers coming in, they said a bus ran through the building," says Jackson.

As many as 13 people were hurt, and they were taken to Sinai Grace Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital. Their conditions unknown.  Cause of the accident is under investigation.
