Galpin Motors Selects Guidepoint For Vehicle Tracking System

Madison Heights-based GuidePoint Systems announced it has been selected by Los Angeles, Calif.'s Galpin Motors, the No. 1 volume Ford dealer in the world, to be the dealership's exclusive supplier of GPS-based stolen vehicle recovery and driver convenience systems.

Guidepoint was selected following an extensive review by Galpin executives of GPS-based vehicle tracking systems. Guidepoint integrates advanced GPS and wireless technology with proprietary software, Web and call-center systems to deliver a range of location-based services including stolen vehicle recovery, roadside help, fleet management and asset protection.

"Guidepoint products are easy to sell, easy to install and easy to use," said Bert Boeckmann, owner of Galpin Motors. "That is critical in today's fast-paced environment where customers frequently do extensive research on cars and accessories before they visit the dealership, and transaction times are half what they used to be."

Said Rand Mueller, president and CEO of Guidepoint: "The team at Galpin Motors has a long history of delivering exceptional value and exceptional service to its customers, and we are pleased to be working with them. GPS-based vehicle recovery, safety and convenience systems have become a sought-after item among new car buyers, who want to protect their new vehicle as well as the passengers in it.  We're confident that Galpin's dealerships will find Guidepoint a popular product that provides significant value to customers."

Guidepoint has been supplying GPS-based telematics devices to North American auto dealerships since 2002. The company's stolen vehicle tracking solution has earned a variety of honors, including a rating as the No. 1 stolen vehicle-tracking system by international research firm Frost & Sullivan. Guidepoint was also awarded the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Enhancement for establishing itself as the preferred vehicle tracking solutions supplier to both the original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket in North America.

"By selling Guidepoint through our F & I offices, we can offer customers a highly valued, competitively priced product that can protect the investment they've made in their vehicle and, more importantly, their passengers and loved ones," said Boeckmann. "Just as importantly, Guidepoint is customer focused and does business the same way Galpin Motors does -- by doing things right and treating people the way you want to be treated."
