He's Back! Auto Critic Scott Burgess Returns To The Detroit News

DETROIT (WWJ )- Scott Burgess is back. The  Detroit News car critic who quit after the newspaper asked him to change sections of a rather scathing review of the Chrysler 200 following an advertiser complaint is returning to work.

Burgess withdrew his resignation after meeting with editor and publisher Jon Wolman, who wrote a letter of apology to readers over the weekend.

Burgess told the News on Wednesday "they apologized and I accepted it.''

Burgess was asked to change several passages of his review of the car promoted in a Super Bowl television ad featuring rapper Eminem. Wolman has said that happened after an advertiser complained about ``acerbic and disrespectful'' material.

 The original review appeared in the newspaper's March 10 print edition. Changes were made to the online version.
