CANTON (WWJ) – Twenty four-year olds Laura Brunett and Joseph Crist left Friday morning from Canton for a 2,200 mile walk to Las Vegas. They plan to arrive in September and get married there.
Brunett said all Crist had to do was ask.

Crist has the trip all mapped out.
“We’ll be heading down through Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, a little bit through Illinois… then Oklahoma, and from there we just take a turn west and go to Vegas,” he said.

“I’m just nervous for them and I’m sad. I’ll miss them a lot… (I thought) they were crazy, quite honestly,” Beard said.
Beard said the family did try to talk them out of it.
“No success. They’re very strong-willed young people,” she said.
