MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) – The Macomb County mother who faked her son’s cancer as a way to scam people out of money has given up her parental rights.
Fourty-seven year-old Carol Schnuphase of Roseville gave up her rights during a custody hearing on Thursday. Her 13-year-old son will remain in foster care until he’s adopted.READ MORE: Ford, DTE Energy Announce Plan To Increase Solar Power In Michigan

Schnuphase drugged her then 12-year-old son to make him appear to have cancer. She even shaved the boy’s head and laced his food with drugs, claiming he had leukemia.
